How You Can Make a Difference

Programs like the Arts Branch of the YMCA of Greater Syracuse rely on numerous sources of funding to continue serving our community. Although most of our expenses are met by course tuition fees, government and foundation grants, and contracts for special programs, individual donors like you are a vital help to the Arts Branch. We hope that if you enjoy the arts programming at the YMCA—or that if you simply believe, as we do, that everyone in our community should have access to opportunities in the arts—that you’ll consider supporting our efforts with a donation.

  • The YMCA After School Arts Program, serving nearly 400 children each week in the Syracuse City School District, relies heavily on donor support—especially with recent increases in the cost of bus transportation. A donation of $175 pays for one bus trip, enabling 45 children to reach their homes safely at the end of the program day.

  • The Downtown Writer’s Center, CNY’s only community center for the literary arts, hosts a wide variety of programs for readers and writers alike. For a donation of $25, you can become a DWC Poetry Patron… your gift will sponsor the Visiting Author of your choice, and you’ll help make our terrific programming happen. Click here to learn more.

  • Each year, the YMCA of Greater Syracuse conducts its “Partners with Youth” campaign. Donations to the Arts Branch’s campaign go directly to ensuring that our work in the inner city schools can continue.
