The Arts Studio at the East Area Family YMCA
is one of the largest YMCA-based arts studios

in the country. Programs include courses in
ceramics, sculpture, painting, dance, drawing,
crafts, music, and more, for all ages.

The Downtown Writer's Center
is the only community literary arts center in CNY,

offering courses in creative writing and a series
of free public readings by acclaimed authors
from New York State and beyond.

The YMCA After School Arts Program
provides free arts education to nearly 400 students
at Elmwood, Van Duyn and Delaware Elementary
Schools, located on the economically
disadvantaged south side of Syracuse.

Music Lessons
are available at YMCA locations throughout

the county, with financial assistance available for
those who qualify. Lessons are currently offered in
piano, violin, guitar, voice, and wind instruments.

Y-Arts Camp
is a series of one-week summer programs for ages

7-14, featuring pottery, drawing, sculpture,
creative writing, swimming and more. Sessions
are offered all summer long.

gallerY
is an art gallery located at the Downtown YMCA,
featuring work by artists from CNY and beyond.
Current Exhibit: photographs by Stephen Shaner,
open through September 3.
